Resource Integration Centre (RIC) was established in 1981 with a vision of supporting national development efforts in rural areas and creating the condition of democratic social order with justice based on equal rights with special focus on gender equity, economic solvency and humanitarian services for disadvantaged people of the country. Organizational objectives are to support overall socio-economic development of marginalized and downtrodden population is related with micro credit interventions and other social support services, to provide literacy among the illiterate population , to develop the unemployed manpower as productive force and self-reliant by creating employment opportunities ,to raise the awareness of target population, organize them and include them in social development activities ,to rehabilitate the landless and helpless population ,to initiate programs to support mother and children to undertake different training programs for human resource development, to prepare the community to cope up natural disasters and to bring about changes at policy level and contribute to the National Plan of Action on Ageing.
RIC is currently active in 24 districts, encompassing both rural and urban areas, and has successfully implemented development projects involving wide-ranging development aims: from disaster risk reduction to the provision of non-formal education for working children. Moreover, RIC is at the forefront of efforts to improve the lives of elderly people in Bangladesh along with few other NGOs, designing targeted programmes to recognise the potentials and particular needs of this vulnerable group.

RIC’s microfinance programmes have been an integral part of the long journey towards comprehensive multidimensional development for Bangladesh envisaged and pursued by the organization. Micro-credit is at the heart of financial sustainability for the poor, disadvantaged and underprivileged in both rural and urban areas. Income-generating activity has the potential to raise economic living standards, and for the poorest, to achieve a minimum stage of economic development and livelihood security:
RIC is implementing Micro Credit operation in all the Upazila of Munishigonj district and providing support in the in the following diversified credit component : Jagoron for poor, Buniad for Ultra poor, Ogroshor for Entrepreneur, Shufolon for Small & Marginal farmer, Shahosh for disaster affected member, Agriculture loan (Bangladesh Bank),Microfinance for Older people . As of February 2016 there are 9570 members, 6,49,81314 savings and 7545 loanee outstanding balance loan balance was Taka 15,000,3831 under the microcredit programme in Munshigonj district .
Food Security and Agricultural Development:
SAMRIDHI /ENRICH includes healthcare, education, training, formation of social capital, employment generation within the communities both in agro-based and non-agricultural enterprises, jobs for the youth ,infrastructural development, training on inexpensive and modern home appliances, special savings programme, special projects for the ultra poor, disabled and elderly persons, demand-driven microcredit and community-based programmes. The poor is being particularly facilitated to actively take part in the development process.
RIC has been implementing the programme in one Upazila of Munshigonj district and is providing health care support and educational support to the poorest community of the area.
Under the project RIC is providing health services through Static clinic and Satellite clinic to the poor and marginalized people RIC is also operating 40 Education Centers to provide education support after school hour to reduce dropout rate from primary education and to increase enrollment primary education. Besides RIC is providing WATSAN services through providing sanitary latrine and tube well.
Right Based Activities:
Older People Welfare Programme (OWP) :
With an aim to contribute to the lives and livelihood of the poor and vulnerable older people in Bangladesh RIC has been facilitating social and health services for the older people through providing economic and material support to the poor and vulnerable older people to solve their problems and meeting up their specific needs. RIC is providing support to 2000 older people of Baligoan union of Tungibari upazila .
LIFT OPLI- Improving Older People’s Livelihood through Community Initiative
RIC is working with older people at Arial, Baligaon union of Tongibari upazilla. Project duration is 02 years (September 2015-August 2017). Project activities are Baseline survey, Older Peoples Association (OPA) formation, Monthly meeting of Older People Committee, Health Service for Older people, physiotherapy training, Eye camp as well as medicine support, Grants & micro credit support for IGA, IGA training, Micro credit support, Older friendly material support (Stick & Commode chair), Day observation on older persons, workshop on intergeneration solidarity . As of 30 December 2015 435 (Female-290, Male-145) older people received health service by static clinic, satellite clinic and health camp. Total number of Older people of this union is 1735 (Female-893, Male-882). Older People Village committee- 29, Ward committee- 09, Union committee-01 and organizing their regular monthly meeting. 38 people are selected for grants and micro credit support, 75 Older people received IGA training on Poultry, Cow rearing and Homestead gardening. 100 Peoples received Stick & Commode chair.
Uplifting the lives of Elderly People Program : In Munshigonj RIC is implementing the project at Arial, Baligaon union under Tongibari upozilla. Project goal is to “Improvement of older peoples livelihood”. Specific objectives are to form community based older people committee , include of older people in older people friendly Income Generating activities, increase the older people access to social and recreation activities and in health service, and to build inter-generation solidarity.
Activities are: Conduction of Baseline survey, formation of Older Peoples Association (OPA) Coordination among the OP and other stake holders through organizing meeting , Leadership development through skill development training, establishment of Older People’s Centre (OP centre), Providing Oldage allowance, Providing health service and Para physiotherapist training, Awarding for Older people for contributing in the society, Micro credit training for OP, Loan support for older people friendly IGA, Funeral support for the poor OPs, Material support for frail vulnerable older people (Walking stick, blanket commode chair etc.) and Social awareness campaign on Elderly issues.

National and International Recognition:
- RIC has been awarded The Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP) award for its successful assistance to enhance livelihood of the poor and hard core poor.
